Brunch at BFF and Chatty Cathy Everyday

Well dear readers news of brunch at Bacchus Fine Foods and news of the Chatty Cathy Everyday store.

The store is opposite the Buccaneer right here in Governors Harbour and as it says on the sign, sells beautiful things, gifts and home decor. It is owned and run by the beautiful and exuberant Cathy Sawyer-Morris.  Cathy has had experience before in retail – she had a shop in Nassau called Fab Finds , then had a restaurant called The Cellar and most recently had the Dunmore Deli in Harbour Island.

Chatty Cathy herself !

Clearly she has a very creative streak and in her own words a busy brain ! The shop is full of carefully curated items across a wide range. There is clothing, jewelry , pajamas, scented candles, greeting cards, towels, handbags and baskets – the list goes on …. Rest assured that if you are looking for a gift for someone else or a treat for yourself or your home then you are bound to find it here. Oh and there is skincare too !

Soap on a rope and beach towels – either with a backgammon board or chess board as part of the design – and the bag has the necessary pieces for the game !

Do drop in and have a look around – it is a joy to see so many lovely things available right here in GH. Cathy is a great person to be around – her energy and enthusiasm mean that she is the perfect individual to run a shop like this. It is a wonderful outlet for her vision and I wish her great success with this venture.

Great greeting cards

The shop is open everyday except Wednesday – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and  Saturday from 10am til 4pm and on Sunday from 9.30am til 4pm. Right opposite the Buccaneer with parking right outside. Have a look at the store and what she is selling on Instagram – chattycathyeveryday

Beautiful beaded bags
The shop is just full with beautiful displays

Now on to food matters !

Lobster Benedict at BFF – how gorgeous does that look !

On Sunday Bob and I went to Bacchus Fine Foods for brunch – oh what a treat ! There are lots of lovely things on the menu. I had lobster benedict and Bob had a Bacchus burger. The food was delicious and there were some lovely people also enjoying brunch there. The atmosphere was relaxed and happy – just what you want – not only on a Sunday. The store has lots of lovely food in it – I am currently munching my way through the early evening with either the Cheese Sticks or the Wasabi Ranch Harvest Snaps – both full of nutrition when washed down with a cold Sands Light beer !!

My favorite happy hour snacks from BFF

The freshly baked bread they sell is always useful for a lunchtime sandwich and I have also stocked up on my favorite Indian samosas from their freezer. Always allow yourself more time than you think you need as it is fun to just browse the shelves and find things you didn’t know that you wanted.

The other evening we went to Buccaneer for a (very) early dinner. It was good to see familiar faces there and enjoy a lovely meal. I had shrimp fried rice with a side order of curry sauce and Bob had his favorite sweet and sour chicken. Lovely atmosphere and a great mid week treat ……

Makes a great picture and tasted very good too …

The house we are living in now – The Other Place is coming together – we now have curtains – not totally necessary but they soften the acoustics and generally give a more finished look. I have used the Ikea ready made all linen unlined panels and they are a good deal. We have also put in a couple of Ikea loveseats as well – the sofa we had was just too big and blocked the room off too much. I didn’t find the sofas that comfortable to relax in until we had 2″ cut off the legs – they were just a bit too high – now they are perfect ! Pictures next week …..

Yoga is back on the calendar – every Saturday – apart from 20th December – and the class last week was great. 12 students plus Monique teaching made for a lovely morning. Hopefully see more of you there as the weeks go by ….

Great class …..

Okay dear readers , have a lovely weekend and amid all the build up to Christmas do please spare a thought for those who are not looking forward to the holidays. Maybe they are ill, or on their own, bereaved or suffering from any type of stress or are horribly isolated and lonely. Keep your eyes open and offer them a kind word or gesture.

Loved these hats !
Right – that’s it – now go in and look for yourselves …….
