What a wonderful occasion – don’t miss it if you can possibly get there …
Lovely to hear from all of you who commented last week on the development stories – it is uplifting to see how many of you care about what is happening here on the island although I am not surprised by it at all. I will keep you posted on what we hear……
Dan spotted a large fishing net washed up on French Leave Beach this week and he and Larry decided that this was a beach treasure to be rescued. Larry came the other day with Dan at dog walking time and after walking the dogs we put them back in the car while 4 of us – Carolyn was at the beach as well – hauled the very heavy net along the beach to the southernmost entrance. Let me tell you it was hard work !

But we got it to the end of the beach and Dan drove his car up and he and Larry loaded into the trunk . It was a very heavy net I can tell you and it filled the back of their car !!! Looking forward to hearing what they do with it at some stage….

We enjoyed a lovely meal with Lori, Joe and Dominic at the Buccaneer this week. We first met them many years ago when they used to rent various houses from us at Governors Estate. We have always seen them when they come for their annual visit but this was such a treat to sit and enjoy their company over a leisurely meal. We have been so lucky to stay in contact with many of our former renters and develop lovely friendships. Â We hope now to make this an annual meeting up over a meal with Lori, Joe and Dominic. Â The pleasure of friendships that go back over a good few years is a real treasure and we cherish ones like this……

Next week there will be no blog as I am having my first cataract surgery in Fort Lauderdale. Resting and relaxing are what I am hoping for – let’s see how far we get with that !!
Take care and I will be back blogging the following week.

Thank you so much – so kind …..
Good luck with the surgery. I did mine about 6 months ago. Totally changed my life!
I hear this from pretty much everyone who has had it done ! Counting down the days !!
Best of luck with the surgery. I hope you will be as surprised as I was by the ease of it and by the difference in colors that you see. White will astound you! Stay well, love the net.
Thanks so much Elise – it’s so good to hear of your experience . That damn net – you wouldn’t have loved it if you had hauled it !!
Sending good wishes for your surgery and a speedy recovery, keep well and rest up.
That net washed up on the beach last week after a night storm. Bruce and I tried to move it but most of it was buried in the sand. We are so glad you were able to get it off the beach!
It was a heavy haul I can tell you – but it has gone to a very good home with Dan and Larry !
