Settling back in to life in Eleuthera is what we have been doing this last week. Alongside that we are cracking on with getting lots of bits and pieces done in The Other Place and getting a lot of work done on The Jewel.
On Thursday last week we enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving dinner as guests of Shelby White and her family. The food was really tasty with plump juicy turkey and a really good stuffing. The company was fun and we enjoyed some lovely conversations – catching up with people we hadn’t seen for a while. Shelby is a consummate host and handles the whole occasion like a professional ! Thank you again Shelby…. It is such a meaningful celebration – making everybody realize what they have to be thankful for and friends and family coming together …..

By the beginning of the week I was just about over the jet lag – it hit us both really hard this time – and was getting in to my stride. Getting blinds up, curtain rails fixed , more pictures hung and shelves up means that The Other Place is starting to really come together …..
It is great as well that pretty much everywhere is open again since we returned. The only place I can think of that isn’t open yet is Sunset Inn – it probably will be open by next week but I will check on it for your information…..
The farm reopened the day we left for the UK so it was well underway when we got back. Bread and baked goodies on Tuesdays and Fridays and rotisserie chickens on Wednesday. The greens are very good at this time of year – I had some of their spinach the other day and it was fabulous. Back to having my regular order of bread on Tuesday and Friday means Bob is happy with his bacon sandwich ….
On Monday this week Bacchus Fine Foods reopened after a well deserved break and they are very well stocked with all sorts of delicious treats. I had a quick look at their lunch menu and was very happy to see that they have my favorite crab cakes on the menu. They are opening for brunch on Sundays which we are looking forward to sampling. Of course I will report on it once we have been.

Yoga is starting up again at the Levy Preserve on Saturdays at 10 am with Monique. I for one will be there raring to go as maybe just a tad too much food was enjoyed on our trip away. I’m not worried about the couple of extra pounds but it’s that sluggish feeling that I don’t like. Moving in a good way that stretches the body without straining it is what I need right now – and it is a lovely friendly group who all enjoy the same thing.

Rudge has been back to Clean K9’s for a wash, trim and nail clipping. Phil does a great job and it was overdue for Rudge, but he looks sleek and gorgeous again. Phil is going to be away now until the New Year but take it from me – he does a very good job and has a lovely way with the dogs particularly our potcake Rudge.

Okay friends – not much more to tell you about this week and I have realized that I haven’t taken a single picture since that last lunch with the family over a week ago. I will get some new pictures of The Other Place and The Jewel for next week.
Have a great weekend and try not to get swept up in the pre Christmas madness. Look out for the last full moon of the year on December 4th – the day this is published…..
