This week I am going to share with you some of my favorite things. These are all in the house that we have just renovated on the Caribbean side at Wykee Estates….
None of them are expensive – as many of you know I do love a bargain !
Anyway without further ado let’s get going.
Firstly I love the Ikea kitchen we have put in. Again many of you know that I pretty much exclusively use Ikea kitchens and have done for over 25 years – back in the UK and since we have been here as well.

This full height cupboard that houses the microwave has been particularly useful. There are 2 drawers below that I use as a food pantry and the cupboard above has glasses, cups and mugs. The microwave is a Whirlpool one and is very good.

The other thing I particularly like is the stainless steel double sink and drainer. It is 60″ wide and the two bowls are the same size 13″ wide x 16 ” front to back instead of having a fiddly little second sink.

I have put in a mirror above the splashback which helps open up the view when you are at the cooktop and is another design trick I have often used.
Rechargeable lamps are a godsend for places where you either need a small lamp or where there are no convenient outlets to plug a standard type of lamp into. This shelf had both problems and finding these little beauties in orange was a no brainer ! I love them so much I bought a second pair – on Amazon ….

Orchid is from Dorothy at Awesome Blossoms in Savannah Sound.
Okay that’s probably enough stuff for now – don’t want you falling asleep !
Dan and I walk the dogs on French leave Beach nearly every day and the path we use has been getting horribly overgrown with vines that both of us have tripped over – it was only a matter of time before it got really dangerous. So I decided to get several of our guys – thank you to Boot, Sonny and Inseul – to clear the pathway. It is a Christmas gift to everybody who uses the pathway to access the beach ……

Last Sunday – December 14th was our 31st wedding anniversary and also the 21 year anniversary of us moving permanently to Eleuthera. So we celebrated with a fabulous lunch at The Cove …. The food there is exceptionally good and the service is lovely. The staff are always very welcoming and particularly Joel – the sushi chef. He always is happy to accommodate my fussy ways – I do not want cream cheese in sushi thank you – or spicy mayonnaise either. And this time we shared an extremely good tempura shrimp roll topped with crab and a little caviar – oh so good ! We both drank a campari and tonic with a splash of orange juice which went down a treat. No beer on that day …

While we were there having lunch so was Amanda Pace – a great local artist who works with beach glass. She is in residency there until December 31st and I highly recommend her work. I spotted this small framed picture as we walked in and as it was LOVE on our anniversary it had to be bought !

Amanda has a great style and there is nothing cheesy or naff about her work. Click on her name above to see her at The Cove or here for her Facebook page ….
Okay dear readers – so next week’s blog is due out on Christmas Day but I will probably post in on Christmas Eve.
Have a good week and look out for those you can show a little seasonal kindness to ….
