This week dear readers I have had a reiki healing treatment in Eleuthera. The reiki master is Monique Carroll who many of you will know as a first rate yoga teacher.
Reiki is a Japanese healing technique that can help reduce stress and pain as well as releasing emotional blockages. It is based on the idea that life force energy flows through us and at times this flow can become stagnant or blocked. The person treating you acts as a conduit for the universal healing energy and your own body draws it to the areas in your body that need it. It is a hands off technique although sometimes the practitioner will actually lay their hands on you – with your prior permission of course.
Monique gives an hour treatment with a good interview beforehand. It is very gentle and calming and I do highly recommend it both as a system as well as having Monique do your treatment.
You can WhatsApp Monique on 242 470 9070 for more information or an appointment…
I think that I have told you before that my first experience of reiki was around 35 years ago when a treatment I had completely cured me of migraine – which I had really suffered with for at least 15 years. I won’t go in to a long explanation of it all but it is a miracle that I have never had another migraine since that first treatment. I am prone to headaches but that is nothing like migraine.
I decided to have a series of treatments as soon as I found out that Monique was a reiki master. As we age our bodies do slow down and muscles and joints can give us problems. That is the case for me – my shoulders and elbows are feeling the strain – so it seemed like a very good idea to treat myself to this opportunity.
I also am going to get a regular massage from Kim Young at the Mission Clinic in Tarpum Bay. I am hoping to have a reiki treatment on alternate weeks to the massage. Of course I will let you know how it all progresses.
There is exciting news coming soon from the Mission Clinic very soon about new services offered there. As soon as I can I will blog about that as well.

Bob and I had lunch on Sunday at 1648 – for some reason we haven’t been there for quite a while…..
There were a decent amount of people there which was good to see. The service was fantastically quick and we both enjoyed our meal. I had my favorite shrimp and lobster burger and Bob had the grouper fish cakes which are always a good choice.

We chose to eat inside in the lovely air conditioned room – it is so hot now and the flies can be horrible especially if you are eating fish so it was a very pleasant experience.

Note to self – do not leave it so long before going back …
Okay dear readers – that’s it for this week. Have a lovely weekend and take care of yourselves – mind, body and spirit !
I wish I knew how to straighten a picture – sorry for the wonkiness of it – but the sentiment is just perfect …..
