This week a few bits of catching up here in Eleuthera.
The demolition of Da Perk and the HG Christie office happened over a couple of days and thanks to good friend Dan for these pictures. Many happy memories were made here over the years for many visitors and despite the demolition those memories will live on. I don’t know yet what the plans are for the site but I will let you know as soon as I hear anything……

This week Rudge and Rufus had their 9th birthday. They are definitely showing their age but still enjoy a good romp on the beach as well as a swim in the sea. You would think that they would be completely calmed down by now – but believe me we still have to keep a good eye on them at times. It is lovely that they all get on so well – Xena as well. She is 2 or 3 years younger than the boys but she keeps them both in line.

On Sunday Bob and I went up to The Cove for a delicious Sunday lunch. We had my favorite salad along with the prosciutto and avocado flatbread and tofu pockets with sushi rice and salmon in a delicious sauce. It was interesting to really take a look at the gazebo entrance where you wait for the golf cart to take you over to the restaurant. It is a delightful space and is often missed if the golf cart arrives quickly – but this visit we spent a little time appreciating it before getting into the car and driving home. The design details were very appealing and I think we really appreciated it properly for the first time. The food and the service are very good and it is a lovely venue to visit.

I think that they are closing for the season in early August – do check this out before you try to book.
Here at Wykee Estates we have begun work clearing the land so we can se what is here. It was very overgrown and the houses were hidden by the foliage. We now can see the sea from the house which is lovely. There is such a lot to do but we are the chaps for that !

This coming Saturday we are off to Fort Lauderdale – it has been way too long since we did that and we are both looking forward to it. Of course a lot of what we will be doing is good old body maintenance. The chiropractor , the dentist, the eye specialist, the dermatologist – the list goes on ! As you can imagine we are both looking forward to the variety of restaurants we can indulge in , and rest assured that you will be seeing plenty of pictures and descriptions of the food we eat.
And so dear friends that’s it for this week. Thank you for all the lovely comments last week about our move – it is lovely to hear from you all.
Take care and do enjoy your weekend.

Glad to see you enjoying the move! The Sprawling Towers was lovely but just too too big!!
Thought of you both when at Claridge’s the other night for dinner. Food was delicious ( I think a new chef)!!!
Best wishes as always

We are hoping to get a breakfast at Claridges with a good friend when we visit later in the year – but dinner also sounds good to me ! Lovely to hear from you.
Thank you for a fun interesting read Kathy- makes not being on Eleuthera right now a little easier to handle 🙂 Enjoy your time in Fort Lauderdale and getting updated on health appointments too.
Safe travels Wendy
Dear Kathy, I am so happy for you and Bob to be enjoying a new adventure with these properties. They will be lovely when you have finished with them. You continue to be a big presence in GH! We love the restaurant reviews. Please post pictures of the renovation as you go.
