Hello dear readers – yes we are in the land of plenty again. We came over in early July and visited our brilliant dermatologist at Z Roc in Ft Lauderdale and had a total of 7 biopsies between us – all of which it turned out needed treatment.

Fortunately they were all at pretty early stages as skin cancers but now is the time to get them treated. Bob had a total of 5 and I had 2 and this trip was really just about getting them sorted out.

One on Bob’s ear had to have a MOUS treatment – but fortunately it was cleared very quickly. None of these treatments are fun but it is important that they are nipped in the bud and not left to develop. And as I written before the team at Z Roc are just brilliant. They know that we are self pay and we never feel that we are being pushed into anything that is not necessary. First class treatment and lovely people as well. What more can you ask for ?

Bob having his ear stitched up after the MOUS procedure – all good and numb at this stage !

We flew in late on Saturday and stayed as usual at the Hyatt Centric on Las Olas Blvd. We have never stayed here on a Saturday before and let me tell you Saturday night – through the night – was so darned noisy ! Cars and bikes racing at 2 and 3 am – it was awful ! So we were rather bleary eyed as we drove up to Delray Beach to meet up with great friends Carol and Keith who have a home in Governors Harbour. It was so good to spend time with them in their Florida home and we enjoyed a lovely long leisurely lunch just down the road from where they live.

With Keith and Carol – food all gone ….

It is very unusual for us to have a day like that In Florida – in fact we are very rarely over for the weekend – so it made a great and relaxing start to our trip.

Now of course the food side of things ! Saturday night we went to Bombay Darbar on Las Olas Blvd for an Indian treat. Tandoori shrimp along with a chicken and spinach curry , rice and garlic naan preceded by poppadoms and chutney – just great …..

Eaten the poppadoms – waiting for the rest
Not the most photogenic dish but I am salivating looking at it – this is the tandoori shrimp

Our Sunday lunch was a combination of salads and really tender calamari – but we were having such a good time chatting that I totally forgot to take any pictures – as I have said before it is lovely to be so lost in the moment that you forget about the blog !

On Monday evening we went to PF Changs at the Galleria Mall as there were a couple of things we needed to pick up there. PF Changs is a chain of course and as such is not a gourmet delight – but it is reliable and what they serve is well done. I even forgave them for taking my favorite dish off the menu – it was Singapore street noodles – but I had shrimp pad thai instead……

Bob had crispy honey shrimp, I had pad thai and we shared a cauliflower dish I can’t remember the name of …..

Unfortunately the noise through the night continued throughout our stay at the Hyatt – not inside the hotel but outside and it really did disturb our sleep. Added to that Bob developed a horrible flu type condition with endless sneezing, coughing and generally feeling pretty awful – added to which both of his ears had been treated so he couldn’t sleep on either side – misery !

Great view down Las Olas Blvd …..

But we had some good things on our trip and if nothing else it is always lovely when you relish getting back to your own home and your own bed !!

We returned home on Wednesday afternoon and the sight of the runway at GHB was beautiful …..

Now for some early nights to catch up on the disturbed ones – have a lovely weekend and relish the comfort of your own home and bed ….

This is why we love Eleuthera – how about this as a way to dry your washing !!!!!

That sounds exactly the same as Bob has – and yes I hope that he will be feeling better soon ! I do know about the news about the food market but Susan Burrows asked me not to write anything about it until it is all signed sealed and delivered. Tempting fate ! …..

  2. Lovely you and Bob were treated and doing well, good to see you smiling and relaxing. Keep enjoying life ! Yes indeed always nice to be back in your own bed . ❤️

  3. Loved hearing that you are both safely home! Even I got excited to be there.
Loved the clothes on the roof. I wonder how they got them there? Welcome back!

  4. Peter and I hope that Bob’s and your full recovery of treatments and flu are swift, nurtured by heavenly Eleuthera. We also send Bob our very best wishes for a happy birthday. May all his wishes come true.
