Meeting the yachting crew at Sunset Inn

On Sunday we met the yachting crew at Sunset Inn. Bob and I decided to go for Sunday lunch at Sunset as we often do. It was Easter Sunday and there were a few people there already.

Then a party of nine people arrived and what a lovely friendly lot they were. Of course we got talking and found out that they were all boaters. I’m sorry to say I didn’t ask them how they referred to themselves so I will for want of a better term call them the yachting crew.

You have to say – they do look like they know how to enjoy themselves – right ?

They came from Utah, Texas, Philadelphia and Nova Scotia. They were all moored up in Governors Harbour and they made a lovely group. The friendship and camaraderie between them was great to experience and we left them to enjoy their meal together….. As I so often say friendship is a real gift and these connections do a lot to make life enjoyable – this group were a beautiful example of how much more pleasant life can be around friends.

Bob and I had another lovely evening at The Potlatch Club last week with good friends Beth and John. Beth has a house in Double Bay and comes every year for about a month with assorted friends and relatives coming to visit her. When we went out for dinner she had her brother David and his partner Joann with them. They were lovely company and we had a great time. I had sea bass – as did 4 of us in total and it was exceptionally good.

As usual I asked one of the waitstaff to take a picture for us and was very dubious when this tall young man – he must have been about 6’2″ held the camera way up over his head. But the result was fantastic and a great variation on the usual table picture shot. Sometimes you just have to trust someone else – right ?

Looks like it was taken from the top of a high stepladder – but it wasn’t !!

Left to right – Beth, David, Joann, John, me and Bob …

This sea bass was exceptionally good….

We were at Tippy’s have an early evening pizza when the lovely Bethany from Charlotte came up and introduced herself as a blog reader. She has come several times over the last couple of years to stay in Eleuthera and told me that she had found the blog useful for finding out what is going on here. Bethany it was a really a delight to chat with you and of course I now regret not getting a picture of the two of us tiogether – next time please make sure I do !

By the way – Tippy’s was incredibly busy ay 6.15 when we got there. It is amazing to see how early people do like to eat these days. Not just us then !

These 2 little morsels of sweetness were busy amusing themselves at Tippy’s.

I treated myself to a massage with the wonderful Kim Young in Tarpum Bay. My shoulders have been up around my ears so it was such a treat to get a get them back down to where they belong. And I am going to have a couple more to really get those muscles unknotted. As I have told you before Bob has a weekly treatment from her to relax the muscles in his neck – it is just coming up to 4 years since he fell and broke his neck – and the treatments certainly help a great deal. As he says he manages to go from one week to the next with the relief that her treatment gives him.

Kim has a very good business and treats a lot of people who truly appreciate her skill. The clinic is called the Mindshift Mission Clinic – here is her number if you feel that you could benefit. 242 552 6665 – office hours.

And so dear readers that’s it for this week. Jane, my sister, arrives on Friday morning so you can imagine how delighted I am at her lovely 6 week visit. It is a joy to have her around – she is everything you dream a sister to be – and she is a great cook as well – she inspires me with new recipes to try. Lots of Jane in the coming weeks !!!!

How about this blast from the past – 10 years ago Amanda and I having lunch in Gregory Town…
And finally the tomato harvest at Sprawling Towers is in full swing – the sweetest tasting tomatoes…..
