This has been a lovely week for meeting blog followers but sad too to wave family off home.
We went on Saturday evening for a delicious meal at The Potlatch Club with Sami and Billy – our daughter and son in law. As I have said before we usually go for lunch so it was a very pleasant experience to go out on a Saturday night for a posh grown up dinner. Three of us had a great shrimp pad thai and Billy had a tasty piece of mahi mahi. We then shared 2 desserts between the 4 of us. It was a lovely evening in a beautiful setting – we always feel lucky to have such a fabulous place so close by to enjoy ourselves.

While we were there it was a lovely surprise when a couple called Andy and Dawn introduced themselves as followers of the blog. They have bought a house which I think is on Knowles Drive – always a delight to meet followers and to hear of them buying a house here.

On Sunday we decided to drive up to The Cove for a last Sunday lunch while Sami and Billy were here. Readers – it was fabulous. Our friend Aiden came with us and it was his first time there – he was suitably impressed. As I have said before you do have to book in advance so we had decided the day before that was our plan. I find it slightly confusing as on the website it says it is a part of the Relais & Chateaux group but the staff say it hasn’t changed hands. It is difficult to keep up with who owns who – what group owns what group. Anyway what is important is that it is a beautiful place with marvelous staff who ensure that you had a great experience.

Sami and I shared 3 dishes which were brilliant. We had a dish from the sushi menu which was a tofu pocket filled with sushi rice and topped with beautiful spicy – but not too spicy tuna. We also had the salt and pepper calamari which was tender and delicious and a fabulous salad with fresh salad greens, edamame, broccoli , feta cheese and assorted grains and a very tasty dressing. We had devoured these before I realized I hadn’t taken any pictures. Bob had the Kobe beef burger which he said was fabulous , Billy had a fish burger and Aiden had a lobster quesadilla. All in all everyone was very happy with their choices.

In other news I have been told that the predicted opening date for the new foodstore here in Governors Harbour is May 1st – it will be very welcome and many people are waiting with bated breath ! I am sure that the prices will be commensurate with everywhere else – which as we all know means expensive. But that is literally the price we have to pay for living here.
News also that Southern Air Charter have 2 new aircraft in their fleet. Hopefully this will mean more regular flights to Eleuthera. Their service has been sporadic for a while but this is definitely a step in the right direction.
Monday was the day that Sami ad Billy flew back to London so we shared our final lunch at Bacchus Fine Foods. It has been so lovely having them staying here. They were the first guests to stay in the studio apartment – a private place for them but they couldn’t be any closer. The studio has the best view here at Sprawling Towers – it is the highest point. The sunrises are so special and I hope they remember them. I will never tire of waking to a glorious orange sky and jumping up to get my camera and capture it.

While we were at BFF having lunch another blog follower – Kolton – sorry if I haven’t spelt that correctly – introduced himself. It gives me such pleasure to meet you readers – please don’t be shy about speaking to me. And at Rock Sound airport where Sami and Billy flew out from a lovely Bahamian lady told me she was a follower. Such a great blog tribe – thank you for telling me that you enjoy my ramblings !!!!
Well that’s all for this week dear friends. Take care and in these strange times be kind to people who may be going through awful situations that can make them appear mean or unpleasant. We never really know do we what people are going through……
